From the Registers

There are parish records for 1553, and detailed accounts of Baptisms, marriages and burials from 1575 onwards. There are several entries which record attacks of the plague in 1610, 1626, 1644 and 1646. Many parishioners appear to have perished in the snow at various times.

Burials in the churchyard include:

August 1626 - George Watson's 3 children buried of the plague.
3rd September 1664 - A man that was shot by the Scottish sentries in the meadows, as he was coming up the water in a boat.
22nd October 1644 - Captain John Cunningame, a Scot.
7th September 1648 - A soldier to Lieutenant-General Cromwell.

19th September 1650 - Raphe Harrison, slaine in a grand lease pitt.
