How to arrange a baptism at St Mary's:

Please come along to St Mary's church on any Tuesday evening between 5:30 and 6:30 pm.  Whether it be a baptism or a service of thanksgiving we will take your details and agree a date and time for the service.  We will also be try and answer any questions you have at all about baptism or the service.

Generally, baptisms take place on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month at 11am. Usually there are two or three candidates at these services. Occasionally we offer baptism within our main Sunday morning worship, for further information please ask. Also, on the last Sunday of the month we offer Baptism during Evensong at 6.30pm (a shorter service of approximately 45mins) Due to demand you will find that bookings need to be made about three months in advance.

What help is there to prepare?

Since baptism is an important step not only in the life of the child but of your whole family, we ask you to prepare for it carefully.  You will be invited to a 'preparation group' on a Saturday morning.  Here we will talk to you about baptism, answer your questions and acquaint you with the service.  Full details will be given at the time you book.
