Bereavement

As Christians, we believe that God's love and power extend over all creation. Every life, including our own, is precious to God.  Christians have always believed that there is hope in life and that there is new life in Christ after death.  

Even those who share this faith find that there is a real sense of loss, great grief and sometimes desperation at the death of a loved one.

As the parish church of Whickham, we may be able to walk with you at a difficult time if you are faced with bereavement.  Our ministry team are available through your funeral director to lead a Christian funeral either in Church or in a Crematorium.  At the funeral we will remember the deceased before God; we will commend them to God and comfort the loved ones who they leave behind. 

You may wish for a loved one's name included in our book of rememberance.  Our ministers or bereavement team may be able to offer you comfort, support and prayer that help you through a difficult and painful time.  If our church community can help you in any way then please contact our clergy or the parish office. 

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.  John 3:16
