What music can we have?
|
It is important to choose your music carefully in order to enhance your wedding day. With this in mind, early planning is essential. Michael Grave is our Director of Music and can be contacted through the parish office should you need to discuss any music options. Otherwise the following questions might help:
· Who will play at our wedding? In most cases Michael Grave will be the organist. Where he unavailable, alternative arrangements will be made. His fee is included in the basic overall fee. Where an additional musical rehearsal is needed (although this is unusual) an extra fee will be made.
· Do we want the choir? St Mary’s have a good choir, however the availability of musicians may be restricted at holiday times and on weekdays. The choir will lead the singing and may, if requested, sing suitable anthems. Suggestions are given.
· Can you help us choose the music? Yes! You will need music for the entrance of the Bride and for the procession of the newly married couple at the end of the service. You’ll also need two or three hymns. The following lists may give you some ideas.
